FAQs

A month-by-month schedule of India's major data releases, covering 40 indicators across seven categories from CPI and the repo rate to GDP and trade. Each entry shows its date, IST release time and impact rating, plus the previous and actual readings once a release is out. Select any event for 1 Finance Research commentary and a link to that indicator's full history.

They are impact ratings, shown in the legend above the grid: red for High Impact, amber for Medium Impact, green for Low Impact. The rating reflects how strongly a release tends to move Indian markets and shift expectations of what the RBI will do next, so the repo rate decision, CPI inflation and quarterly GDP are rated High, while Money Supply (M3) and sector-wise bank credit are rated Low. You can show one or two levels at a time using the Impact checkboxes under Filters.

Previous is the last reading, Actual is the figure just released, and Expected is the consensus forecast beforehand. Each tile carries its own period, so Previous 3.93% (May) against Actual 4.38% (June) compares consecutive months. Expected appears only where a published forecast exists, so many events carry just Previous and Actual.

Select Filters, at the top right of the grid. You can filter by Status (All Events, Released or Upcoming), by Impact (High, Medium or Low), and by any of seven categories: Inflation, Monetary Policy & Interest Rates, Banking & Credit, Trade & Currency, Government Finances, Jobs & Employment, and Economic Growth. The choices combine, so Upcoming plus High plus Inflation leaves only the inflation prints still to come. Select Apply to update the grid, or Clear to start again.

The calendar covers a rolling three-month window: the previous month, the current month and the month ahead, moved between using the arrows on either side of the month name. That is enough to see the events still to come this week and the full month ahead, alongside what has already been released. Scheduled dates come from the issuing authorities' own release calendars, and the actual figures fill in as each release is published, drawn from official government publications, CMIE Economic Outlook and 1 Finance Research. Release dates can be changed by the issuing authority without notice, so confirm against the official source before relying on a date.

The High Impact releases are the repo rate decision, CPI, quarterly GDP and GVA, the HSBC PMIs, forex reserves and government capex. They matter because they either set the price of money or shift what the market expects the RBI to do next. Filter by Impact High to see only these.
